Esta bloga es muy divertida.
So we are working on our spanish... Today was our first whole day here and it turned out to be amazing!! After our little morning episode..(see previous blog post)..we ended up walking downtown. We went into the Museo Nacional and walked around for a few hours. The first room you walk into is a beautiful and peaceful butterfly garden. The museum contains countless artifacts and fascinating displays about the history of Costa Rica; even the building itself was important in Costa Rican history. Prior to the 1948 revolution, and the abolition of the Costa Rican army, the building (what is now the national museum) served as the primary military barracks. Shortly afterwards, it was dedicated to host national history. Can you imagine a better way to promote peace, than to turn military barracks into a museum, especially a whole zone dedicated to butterflies!?
Here is a pretty butterfly from the garden (notice the tube coming out of its mouth, it was drinking fermented fruit!)

After el museo, we pretty much walked the rest of the day away. We found this cute little restaurant to have lunch in. It was deeeelicious (especially after a lot of walking). And at another point, we stopped for coffee, during which Tawsh kept up her winning streak in gin rummy. We did get lost briefly, probably due to Grant's belief that he posesses an infallible sense of direction. But, we were back on track in no time.

Tonight we're off to a reggae bar with our fellow hostilians (our new word for people we have me in the hostels). Tomorrow we are off to Puerto Limon :)
Adios for now. We miss and love you all. xoxo
